Step into the Light and Start Dancing Today. Join our **Salsa Beginner** program at **Ritmo Y Sabor**, where you'll embark on an exciting 8-week journey into the fundamentals of salsa! Ever wanted to join the crowd when Latin music starts playing? Our Salsa Beginner class is designed specifically for those with zero dance experience. We focus on "L.A. Style" salsa, the most popular style in the world, know for it's sharp turns, exciting energy, and "On1" timing. What is "On1" Timing? In salsa, we dance to an 8-beat rhythm. "On1" means we take our first most powerful step right on the first beat of the music. It's the most intuitive way to learn, making it the perfect starting point for new dancers to find their groove quickly. What you'll learn: -The Foundations: Master the basic forward-and-back "Linear" step that forms the backbone of salsa. -The Cross-Body Lead: Learn the signature more that allows you to navigate the dance floor with ease. -Turns: Build your coordination with basic solo and partner turns. -Timing & Musicality: We'll train your ears to hear the "1" so you never feel off-beat. No Partner? No problem! Our classes are highly social. We rotate partners throughout the session, which means you'll get to practice with different people and make new friends along the way. Coming with a partner? You're welcome to stay together, but rotating is the fastest way to learn! Our beginner Salsa course includes additional practice days on Sunday! Use this extra time to refine the techniques and patters learned during your Friday sessions.
